Sam + Emma | Thredbo Wedding

Weddings

I can’t believe this was two weeks ago already?! Sam and Emma were married in Thredbo, a beautiful alpine resort located 3 hours south of Tumut, on the other side of the Kosciuszko National Park. This place is usually known for winter, but oh boy is it beautiful in summer too!

When I first met Sam and Emma, (randomly through mutual friends, *cough* and some wine) they’d already planned 90% of their day and even had another photographer booked! We clicked straight away and I fell in love with their personalities, kindness and adoring love they have for each other. I think within 48 hours after we met, I got a message from Emma saying something like “We need you on our wedding day, how do I book you in?!”

You could call it love at first sight, ha! Anyway, so March rolls around, and so does a one in 150 year freak rain event that sweeps across the nation. Alpine resort weather can be pretty hit and miss, so it wasn’t anything new to them, so they embraced it!

When you lean into the chaos, and unpredictability of your wedding day, that’s where the magic happens. Beauty is found within the crazy, within the “nah fuck it, let’s just do it” and your willingness to let go and have some fun! This is exactly what Emma and Sam did, and it was AMAZING!

Also, side note. These two did a “first touch” which you’ll see in the photos, we found a wall (out of the rain) where they could hold hands, exchange gifts and talk (but not see) to each other before their ceremony – it was an epic rollercoaster of emotions and 10/10 would recommend!

Enjoy this blog post, it’s a goodie!

PS, if you’ve been around the block with me for a while, you’ll know that Thredbo is like a second home for us (Rey and I) so having the privilege of making these new life long friends, taking our girl/family away for a few days, and photographing in a place that’s so special in our hearts – was an absolute honour. Thank you, Emma and Sam, I love you two SO much!
