Darcy + Narissa | Adelong Church Wedding

Weddings

I’ve been looking forward to this wedding for months and I can’t believe it’s been and gone so quickly! Something that was particularly special on this day was watching and photographing Narissa and Darcy’s three year old daughter, Ella. How she casually went about being a cheeky toddler, totally oblivious to what was going on around her.

When i’m photographing weddings, I often think about future generations and how they’ll look back on these images. I wonder how much Ella will remember from her Mum and Dad’s wedding? (if anything at all). It’s my job as a photographer to not just “take photos” but to document their day in such a way that when Ella is old enough, she’ll be able remember all those things she saw and felt on the day. Things she didn’t understand at the time, but she will eventually (food for thought….?)

I also can’t go without mentioning how incredibly talented Narissa’s Aunty is! She made (yes, made) both Narissa’s wedding dress AND Ella’s flower girl dress!! She also put together all the flower arrangements and the bridal bouquets! Whoh!

Tell us a little bit about your wedding day…
“We wanted relaxed but also adding a few formal bits to it also. Thank goodness for Roslyn as she kept things happening and on schedule!! Everyone who knows Darcy and I know how relaxed and laid back we both are and that is how our wedding was, neither of us were nervous.”

What was your favourite moment from your wedding?
“Our bridal dance!! Having Jemima singing Nothing Else Matters was awesome!!”

Do you have any words of wisdom for future couples who are planning their wedding day?
“Relax, take it all in. Its such a beautiful day.”

Can you tell us a bit more about your experience with Roslyn Clare Photography?
“She is absolutely amazing!!! Who wouldn’t want a photographer that is relaxed and chilled and even drinks wine straight from the bottle!!!” (side note, yes that did happen… request from the bride and groom, can’t say no?!)
