Over the past few months you may have noticed a shift in the way I photograph, edit and the overall style of my photography. Why? Well they say change is good for you, right?

I’ve been doing a lot of soul searching these past 12 months (thanks to my little babe Olivia who is my new life teacher) which has included changing the direction and style of my business and my photography. I’m no longer just doing what I think people want me to do, but rather i’m finally photography everything that I want to do. See where i’m going with this yet? Hear me out.

I really wanted to start focusing on what type of people I want to attract to my brand, which i’ve found are the sort of people who I really want to bond and connect with outside of my photography. As things change in my personal life and my priorities shift to being a Mum first and foremost; i’ve found I no longer want to be caught up in just photographing anyone and everyone. I genuinely don’t have the time and i’m not gaining anything (financially or personally) from just being that photographer who does everything.

After suffering from post natal depression for months following the birth of our daughter Olivia (still dealing with this day to day) i’ve been forced to learn some hard lessons. Change is good. So in the past twelve months I felt like my photography was often a savour, when sometimes I felt like I was/or had nothing else. You’re not just a Mum Roslyn, you’re a kickass photographer who takes bloody good pictures of amazing people!

I always knew I loved photography. But I feel like I now know that this is exactly what I want to do for the rest of my life. This is it. It’s what I should be doing, i’m good at, it makes my soul happy, I get to make other people happy, I get to witness some of the most beautiful, intimate and special moments of peoples lives and thats bloody incredible!?!!

So this rebrand came after a few lightbulb moments where I knew I needed to change my business to be more like me, a truer representation of my life, who I am as a person here and now and who and what I want to photograph. The way I market myself and my business is shifting, my editing and shooting style is changing and I finally have the guts to do things I never thought i’d be able to do.

I’ve been working on this for a few months now and it’s been hard not to shout it from the rooftops, but it’s finally here! Along with the re brand and website make over, i’ve set myself some pretty big goals!

–  Blog more and post more regularly on social media!
–  Photograph couples and families in more adventurous locations around our region (mountains, waterfalls, winter sessions etc!)
–  Have a studio/office space in Tumut by the end of 2020 (!!!!!)
–  Introduce fine art albums and hand crafted frames and prints to my product line.
–  Connect more with other local small businesses!
–  Focus on more personal projects like styled shoots for elopements and couples.

Ahh, can’t believe I just got that all off my chest, phew. Now i’m accountable for all my goals?! Haha! Anyway, I hope you’re all enjoying being here and I want you all to know I appreciate each and every one of you. All your support, kind words and encouragement over the years has led me to this spot and i’m so excited for what the future holds!

If you want to connect with me and say hey, shoot me an email or message on Facebook, i’d love to know what you think.

The amazing creatives who have helped make this possible…

White Moth Studios

Sarah was the creativity and artist behind my new logo design and re brand. She listened to all my weird ideas, she stalked my Pinterest inspiration board and understood my vision right from the get go. This was a really personal decision for me to choose Sarah to bring my ideas to life. I didn’t want just anyone custom illustrating what is essentially a visual representation of my life and business. I needed someone who understood me, my life and this silly season that i’m currently in the midst of.

ECCollective

I first met Lauren a few months ago, she originally contacted me to photograph her family (still haven’t done it), a hundred coffee dates later and I now consider this girl a super close friend/entrepreneur inspiration and I don’t know what I would do without her!! She makes my business BETTER and she’s a blessing to have in my little biz circle! Lauren is the wizard behind my website design and she’s my guru when it comes to coding, SEO’s and all that nitty gritty behind the scenes stuff.

Love your goal list. They’re all super achievable.
I love the sound of winter sessions. Portraits in the snow are the loveliest!
